Song Review: IBILE JESU by Oluwatomi & Oba Reengy | @Craftomi @Obareengy

Major gospel, secular blogs and download sites over the past 72 hours have been getting rather massive downloads to the recently added jam to Christian Hip Hop genre; IBILE JESU.

Ibile Jesu passed on the hip-hop score board and incredibly managed not to lose the touch of passing across a strong message as take home for the listener!

We in the CHH (Christian Hip-hop) community never expect less when indigenous rappers Oluwatomi and Dotun Oba Reengy have to come together on a track. In recent times, they have gotten several accolades for their contribution to the growth of Christian Hip Hop and the Christain community at large as their individual songs have correctly addressed several phenomenal and conscious issues pertaining to Church and society at large.

The song "Ibile Jesu" saw the two rappers drop lyrically inclined bars on pledging allegiance to the God ,his son; Jesus Christ and local rap as they categorically painted not only being unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ but also reiterated that they are unashamed to represent in an indigenous (ibile) style.

Oba Reengy who took the first verse of the song had to drop bars conjoining the movement to be filled with non mediocre but legends having hardwork in mind, his love for God, changing the concept and indigenous rap with topnotch content.

He said;

"Dayanmo, respect
You are in the presence of legends
Nibi ko s'aye fun nonsense
Ko to wo'le you are tested
Grind grind, so hard
Won ni bayen ma se dope ke
Sise sise mo sise ise
Rap mi nikan mo fe fe
Bami to ga ju, mo l'eyin le gan ju
E tobi l'owo mi, la'ye mi E ga ju
There's nothing beside you, there's no one else like you
I luh you I luh, you ma daddy ma daddy
Change the concept, local rapper pelu content
Won i mo p'ati wole siwon lara
Kon to taj'ibile Jesu gbode o"

The chorus delivered by Oluwatomi was not only captivating but further described their total dependence on Christ, how indigenous they remain and how Christ has never failed in His promises to them.

Verse two (also delivered by Oluwatomi) had him brag about not being in rap out of indecision but how he successfully delivered heavenly inspired bars on numerous beats. The visionary crooner also gave some funny lines advising those who want to race with him to seek the help of popular cab companies uber and taxify (lol). He went further to say that regardless of where they emerge from, he would triumph over them any day as he's always on top speed!

This jam is in a way, similar to Limoblaze's song JON (Jesus Or Nothing) though both tracks saw all the artistes professing their love for Jesus Christ but Limoblaze can be said to be international with the whole British accent while that of Ibile Jesu put aside the accents to dish out radical indigenous bars!

The final verse of Ibile Jesu had Oba Reengy chiding rappers claiming to be representing the ghetto but not solving problems and advising them to visit the 'ghettos and garages' to see how ignorance steadily claims the lives of youths.

Ibile Jesu had being on repeat on my mobile since I downloaded it right here on www.pricherman116.com.
It was heavily delivered on the right beat, lyrically inclined with a strong message.

This song is a plus to not only the Christian Hip Hop community but to the Christiandom as a whole. I recommend this jam for all lovers of Christian Hip Hop and the gospel. I also hope you put it on repeat when finally get this jam. If you have heard the song before now, I hope you can affirm to the veracity of this article.
