MIT ME: Pricherman116 Blog Interviews Young Entreneur, Sanya Ayodele (CEO Timi Bracelets)

Good day and welcome to ‘Mit Me’, Pricherman116 Blog's interview session. Tell us about yourself.

My name is Sanya Ayodele Timileyin... A graduate of animal production and health from the federal university of agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria. I'm the creative director and C.E.O OF Timi Bracelets...a fashion brand out to give the fashion statement of people a lift with bracelets.

Welcome on board fam. Childhood background?

Basic/major part of my child hood was spent in Ogun state, Abeokuta to be precise. My “out of Abeokuta” days as a kid were travellings with FAM or holidays with cousins and grandparents.

You studied Animal health and production in the university. How did bracelets come to be?

I will say bracelets have always been there. My sister is a crafty person and she makes all sorts with beads, from bags to neckpieces to bracelet. The decision to become a brand came during my final year/ post final year though.

How's the brand doing so far?

Good so far... better than we started. A little bit of challenges but we thank God.

What are the challenges you have faced as a young entrepreneur?

Finance would always be a challenge to a budding entrepreneur...so yes finance.. One other thing is delivery of the products to clients in other states, we working on it though.

Do you think every Nigerian undergraduate needs to learn a handiwork these days?

Yes, definitely.... I don't just think, Lol. I think its necessary and compulsory. If you can learn more than one. Fine. No knowledge is wasted. The number of graduates universities churn out are more than what the government can handle...  Like my motto for couple months has been “ise owo is the new oil and gas”.

Lol. What a slogan. You mean to say the palms of one's hands doesn't deceive one...

Yea more like be your own boss. Have something going you can call your own.

Are you planning to seek a job from the government?

Definitely.... My brand is still coming up so I need other sources of income to maintain a living and at the same time build my brand. So I get a job and at the same time have a side hustle.... It doesn't have to be the government .... Anybody that can pay me for the services He/She employed me to offer. We have a deal.

Do you still intend to practice what you studied in school or It's just business now?

I studied animal production and health in school... So hopefully I should have something to do with animals or maybe plants (food crop and all) in the nearest future.

Do you already have people who work for you?

Yeah. My brother does and I work with some people who handle my deliveries too (basically Lagos deliveries).

You're already helping to solve unemployment in the country. How do you think the Government and other citizens can also do this?

Truth be told... The government can't give everybody jobs...so I'll say to individuals..turn that your passion into something that makes you money...and I'll suggest the government start a lot of training projects to teach people stuffs and fund them for a start .that way each trainee becomes a boss and employs other people.

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

No fears really, I just hope and trust in God to help achieve my goals and attain desired height.

What inspires you to do more?

I can say the people I inspire keep me going... I get comments from people about how I inspire them and sorts. So if I keep going, keep pushing, its because of them, its really cool when you know people look up to you.

How do you define success?

Success.... Most people would say success or been successful is not about the cars you drive, building you live in, other properties you have and all...but from an angle, that's success.. In my own words tho, I'll like to tag success as “reward for hustle”... Like doing something and having something to show for it... If that makes sense.

Describe/outline your typical day.

Typical day...  Prayer starts the day, get some chores done, try get clients with the help of social media, sort out the making and delivery of existing orders. And of course, I eat too, as many times as possible, lol and eventually I sleep.

What do you do in your non-work time?

I play games,  I read books, I sleep, I go out, and I also try make myself a better person at what I do. Go through write-ups, YouTube videos and all.

What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

Getting out of my comfort zone just sums the whole sacrifice thingy up. From staying up late at night to travellings to fund diverting...lots of stuffs really get done when you go out of your comfort zone.

Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Can I really pen it down to one? I don't think so....I have lots that I admire..... Big ups to everyone in the fashion industry, photography and all, in fact big ups to everybody trying to making a living out there.

Where you see yourself and your business in 5 years?

5 years...we talking like 2021...that year sounds like one step at a time, lol. So in 5  years I want my brand to be one that is reckoned with in the fashion industry in Nigeria and abroad, also want to have stores and outlets all over as I currently work from home now and do my part in solving unemployment in my own little way.

What's your favorite Gospel song?

Tye Tribett is my favourite gospel  artiste, so any song from him is fine.

If you were the one anchoring this interview, what is that ‘one question’ you would have loved to ask?

Nothing really.

What is the best thing you've gotten from what you do?

Getting to work for amazing clients and getting to meet celebrities... Meet Sonnie badu sometime last year, also got to meet vector last week too.

Are you married or in a relationship?

I'm not married.

How can you be reached by friends, fans, and people who wish to do business with you?

Whatsapp: 08103500549

Finally, a word for those who look up to you as role models?

Err.... Focus is key.... Set ur heart to whatever you want to do. You can have big dreams but its also not a crime to start small.

... Great word. And that's all we'll be having on today's edition of Mit Me... Thank you very much for spending your time here. We appreciate you and hope to get responses from you whenever we call on you in times to come.

Always welcome Sir. Had a nice time too.
