Wendy Joan Williams-Hunter; American television host and former radio personality went too far on her show yesterday when she decided to throw shades at the legendary Clark Sisters!!!
While talking about Snoop Dogg‘s newly released and chart topping gospel album, "Bible of Love", Wendy slammed the legendary sisters and questioned their legacy. Watch below:
@WendyWilliams took it too far yesterday when she fired shots at the Legendary Clark Sisters... We won't take this from you!@TheClarkSisters have won #grammys 3 times! Watch your mouth and do some research lady... pic.twitter.com/EoxiSGy3Gw— 👑 PRicherman 👑 (@mistaboluwajiAE) April 19, 2018
According to Wikipedia: “The Clark Sisters are credited for helping to bring gospel music to the mainstream and are considered as pioneers of contemporary gospel.”
Yet Wendy went on TV to say something she has no facts about... Kierra Sheard, Kirk Franklin, Michelle Williams, Tasha Page Lockhart, Googoo Atkins, Kim Burrell and a host of others have taken to social media to defend the legendary sisters (Twinkie, Jackie, Dorinda and Karen).
See some comments below:
Kirk Franklin: “I would be nothing without the CLARK SISTERS. I’m not even in the same category. I’m just now getting to where they started. Salute.”
Tasha Page Lockhart: “@wendyshow #WendyWilliams#Fail The Clark sisters are my family PERIOD! The sisters are Gospel Music royalty and have had several number 1’s and won numerous awards. Jay Z sampled them and they’re also on @snoopdogg new record that you were referring too. Soooooo why would they be jealous of an album that they’re featured on 😳🙄🤷🏽♀️ doesn’t make any sense right? Right! Do your research and fire your entire production staff that allowed you to make this tragic mistake BYE #MyDetroitFamily #TheClarkSisters oh and I almost forgot thank you so much for helping their new music that’s about to be released go #1Great publicity and it was free 😂 @karenclarksheard @dorindaclarkcole@jackyclarkchisholm @twinkieclark”
Googoo Atkins: “@wendyshow you owe these legends a HUGE apology. YOU don’t know them because they don’t live messy scandalous lives and that’s ALL YOU know and seem to care about. But to disrespect and disregard ALL that they have accomplished in music (all genres), and further suggest jealousy was tasteless, IGNORANT, disrespectful and uncalled for. They have absolutely positively no reason to be jealous of Snoop whom they look at as a nephew, who grew up admiring THEIR music. They have absolutely positively no reason to be jealous of anyone, and they are not, because they are godly, confident and VERY ACCOMPLISHED musicians. The Gospel music industry is VERY OFFENDED by your most recent IGNORANT, uninformed comments regarding OUR QUEENS! And to the LEGENDARY CLARK SISTERS, WE ADORE YOU!”
DaLaun Dillard: “Wow, so @WendyWilliams dissed the Clark Sisters and clearly didn’t realize how legendary they truly are. Or how many #1 hits they actually DO have. Lord, she needed to do a little more research before speaking on them smh”
