SHYLD YOUTH MOVEMENT HONOURS DILIGENCE & HARDWORK AT AWARD & APPRECIATION DAY | 6th September, 2017

SHYLD YOUTH MOVEMENT (Strategic to Harness Youth Leadership and Development) was created on May 5, 2014 and is an arm/parastatal of the Broadnet Foundation. This initiative was created by Sunday Oni, the CEO/Director of the Broadnet Foundations, supported by the joint effort of family and friends.

The SHYLD discovered the need to empower youths in the society through skill acquisitions - such as Photography, Graphic Designing, Cinematography, Fashion Designing, Make-up, Baking etc. In order to achieve this, The SHYLD Network partnered with facilitators who are established in their various professions. These facilitators are required to embark on a rigorous training of these youths for a specific duration in which it is hoped at the conclusion of the training each individual would have developed his/herself in their choice of skills. Our goal is to ensure that all youths have useful life skills for sustainability, especially with the inadequacy of jobs in Nigeria.

The exercise began on October 25th 2014 with the registration of youths within Oyo State. An estimated number of 5,000 people registered and the SHYLD Network has so far been able to empower 20%  of them. Most participants of the exercise have completed their training and established themselves in their various skills.

One of the beneficiaries of this exercise, who has shown exceptional commitment and promise is Mr Timileyin Toyinbo
Timileyin who chose to learn phone repair but during the screening, Mr Sunday Oni Shyld Coordinator and Mrs Aderonke Olubanjo convinced him to choose another profession that can give him a better future because of his poor background, He latter choose to learn fashion designing and was placed under the wings of one of our facilitators, the CEO of the DGV styles, now known as Ibadan Fashion College, in person of Mrs Aderonke Olubanjo. She has since trained and mentored Timileyin throughout the duration of his training.

He started from being an ordinary student with no knowledge whatsoever of the trade but gradually rose through the ranks.
Today, Timileyin is one of the top instructors at Ibadan City Fashion College.

This is the result of Timi’s hard work, commitment and determination. For Timi, this is not the end of the road, but is just the beginning.

SHYLD Youth Movement decided to award Timileyin for his exceptional commitment, hard work as the best beneficiary of SHYLD EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM.

At SHYLD, we are contributing and helping the society through entrepreneurship economy value chain. Our exploits are not limited to fashion school but also to other areas of human endeavors such as photography, cake baking, cinematography, graphic design etc.

We shall continue to pursue this laudable objective until it becomes an economic and social network of global impact.

In a nutshell, the entire household of SHYLD appreciates and felicitate with Mr. Timileyin Toyinbo for his outstanding performance as he has being elevated to the position of first instructor. You made us proud, and we are also proud to be part of your success.
