INTERVIEW: FERAN JAMES SPEAKS WITH PRICHERMAN116 BLOG | @FeranmiJames.

Can we meet you?

My name is Feranmi James.

What do you do sir?

I am a music Director, A writer and a Minister of the Gospel

Why did you choose Gospel music?

I don't say I choose gospel, I say I am a minister of the Gospel which means good news.

So all I carry in my songs are messages of hope and faith for the world. And that's what my music is all about; Good News to all.

I asked because a lot of artists nowadays venture into music because they think they've got the voice and they want fame and money. What challenges do you face, standing out of the multitude?

Well, its not been easy but I get so much fulfilment in seeing people blessed after coming in contact with my material and that's what keeps me going.

Fame and money come along the way when you offer good stuffs. That's my belief.

You mean to say the Kingdom of God comes first and all else follow. Glory to God. What's your childhood and educational background?

Primary school education was in Ibadan (Orita mefa Baptist nursery and primary school). Secondary school in Ibadan as well, Kings and Queens college and I studied civil engineering in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

Wow. That's awesome... After studying engineering, everyone's dream would certainly be to get a Good job and fat pay. You on the other hand chose to put your passion and calling before career. How did your parents react to that?

Well my parents love God and they have sensed the call of God on me since I was little so, they weren't surprised 'cos they knew about my love for music and my love for the things of God since I was in the University. It wasn't that disappointing.

I found purpose while in Uni and I went after it all the way.

Great. Now that you have 3 things doing at once... How do you manage directing, writing and ministry of music?

Well, everything works hand in hand.
Writing is more like the content, directing is the structural work while the ministry part is the influence of the spirit that guarantees our result.

When did you start your music career. I mean officially. When was your first single released and how did you feel about the results you got from it.

I officially started in 2005 back in the university, ministered in different churches and concerts over the years but my first release was in 2014 (KO S'ENI TO DABIRE). Then my second single, ‘WHAT A WONDER YOU ARE’ was released in Feb 2015. The feed backs on both project has been mind blowing and God has used both songs as a tool to help people into a deeper place of worship. Really amazing.

Glory to God. Who and what inspires you. Do you have any mentor(s) in the music ministry and outside?

I follow a few people closely; Nathaniel Bassey, Flo Rocka, Mike Word, Extreem crew and Ibukun Fadugba. They have all been great blessings to my music ministry especially my very own King Rocka and Ibk. I aslo love Tye Tribbett, J.moss and Deitrick Haddon. I'm hoping to meet and put them on my projects someday.

Amen to that. Do you have any projects you're working on presently? Album? Singles? Concerts?

Planning to release a single before the end of this year, 'ko se ni to da bi re (remix)' with a very anointed friend of mine, Naomi Classik and another track will be released early 2016, its all gonna be a build up toward my album. Concerts and church tours will follow the album release much latter in the year (2016).

Great. Let's digress a little and talk about your personal lifestyle. If you wish to talk about some and if not. Are you married or seeing anyone?

I'm engaged to a wonder lady by the name Bukola Bello. She's a blessing to me and she's the most amazing person on earth, trust me.

Glad to know that. Are you getting married soon?

Soon? Yes. Hopefully next year but if not, 2017 definitely.

What do you do when you're not ministering, singing or directing?

Swimming, reading, movies, hang out with friends and sleep.

Lest I forget. When was your best time ever during a ministration?

A program at kingdom Life Church, Ibadan called Worship The King in May 2015. It was an amazing time in worship and the Holy ghost took over. I still listen to the recording myself and it blesses me over and over again.

Wow. Glory to God. Any word for the brethren and fans out there?

Keep the Faith. Christ is Coming soon, so live today with eternity in mind.
