Good day and welcome to 'Mit Me'; Pricherman116 Blog's Exclusive Interview session. Can we meet you?
My name is Ernest Egedegbe. My stage name is Supremez.. In the Southern part of Nigeria am called THE RAP_HOUSE and it cos its always a hot shot when I'm on stage.
How did you get the name SUPREMEZ?
It started as a revelation. Since the Supreme Being lives in me then I am Supreme. So over every situation I am Supreme, am in charge I am kinging .. The 'Z' means Zoe meaning the God kind of life... So together it called SupremeZ.
Hmmm. Awesome. Where exactly do you hail from?
I am from the South. Precisely from Ughelli North, Delta State, Nigeria.
How was growing up like for you and what's your educational background?
That's a deep one. Growing up was really a tough part of my life because I was easily depressed and I was also shy. Until God saved me. I Later got bold with the help of the Holy Ghost. Then I started performing songs that I wrote while I was a shy kid . And Coming to my educational background. I am a final year student of the Delta State university, studying Mechanical engineering by the way and its been exciting.
How did you start to sing and when?
(laughs) My singing career began in 2011 with an agape choir in church of God mission called FRESH DEW. It had a postive effect on me. Till I left fresh DEW in 2012 and started a SOLO CAREER. Even though I had challenges been more of a rapper than a singer I Thank God I was able to keep up and have a stand in the music scene.
What challenges did you face starting up as a Gospel rapper?
A lot of challenges from ACCEPTANCE to some pastors telling me my MUSIC was evil. It wasn't funny at all . Praying was a vital part and soon enough I had the Break through I wanted and I Thank God for it.
Glory to God. The first time you released a track, How did the world respond to you?
First time I released a track the title of the song was SALVATION. The song got a MEGA AWARDS PRE - NOMINATION. And i got great responses and till now I'm still getting. Beautiful RNB RAP song that could bring tears out of the eyes. I wrote that song in the bath room by the way (lolz).
That's one of the best composing rooms in the world tho. Lol. Apart from rap, what are your interests and hobbies?
Jeez I love acting, hiking, reading books and I have a secret passion for modelling and FASHION. I also av a big interest in PAINTING and Abstract painting.
What should we expect from you in 2016?
Me and my manager we working. I ll be releasing just one project buh it will be HEAVY WEIGHT. I ll be releasing 3singles in 1day and NO RELEASE DATE YET. Buh from my music calculator I think it'll be around JULY/SEPTEMBER. And am also working on a VIDEO. Thats how exciting and great 2016 is.
Who and who are your role models in the industry?
Actually my role models are very few. In Nigeria am inspired by The whole BLW RAP NATION (TB1, SAMJAMZ, TRUSOUTH, GCLANQED , etc) then INTERNATIONAL obviously LECRAE and the whole of REACH RECORDS (TEDASHII, TRIPLEE, ANDY MINEO, KB).
Cool. You said you faced a lot of challenges before you gained your ground as a Gospel rapper. A lot of youths out there are facing similar challenges. What's your advice for such people?
First thing prayer hard, really hard. Improve on your self during the trying times. And finally . There something I use to tell myself B. M. F Which means BELIEVE. MOVE . FOCUS.
Where or how do you get inspired to write your songs?
Life, Nature, HURT and pain inspired me to start writing music. After losing a cousin to the grace the pain was too much. And I learnt to pen down my pains but the Holy Spirit kept me writing positive music. Thats how I started song writing.
That's great. Before we let you go, what would you say to your fans and supporters all over the world before you go?
I wanna tell them I love them and I also wanna Thank them for the support and everything they doing..... And final 3 words.. BELIEVE MOVE FOCUS....#BMF #Supremez #Rap_House.
