Joy Anwuli Nmor popularly known as JOI MOR hails from Ndokwa west LGA in delta state Nigeria. She was born into the family of Architect and late Mrs Mabel Nmor as the 2nd child. She’s very jovial and a complete extrovert as this reflects in her music. She’s a graduate of Economics from the prestigious Benson Idahosa University, Benin city.
JOI MOR started music officially in 2011 with the release of her debut album “You’ve Got Me Tripping” which had songs like ‘I dey trip’, you’ve got me tripping’ I love you Lord ” amongst others produced by one of Nigeria’s finest producers (Gospelondebeatz) with videos aired all over the nation and beyond. The album got rave reviews and enjoyed massive airplay all over the country.
JOI MOR took a short break from music to further her education in 2012/2013 where she acquired her Masters Degree in Economics and international finance.
In October 2014, JOI MOR came back with another hit single, Chim’oma produced by one of project fame 6.0 finalists (Johnny Drille who recently got signed to Don Jazzy's MAVINS). The song which was inspired by religious happenings around her emphasizes the Father and child relationship that God has with us and how it never fades.
The song won a lot of awards and made it to various radio stations. The video of the song was released in February 2015, shot by Whyte house… and has been aired in various TV stations across the country.
In May 2015, JOI MOR released yet another single, YAHWEH. After which she held her debut musical concert DOXA on the following day. According to her, it is a worship song given to her directly from God in her place of worship. This song has be very productive in soul winning as testified by many people both in and outside the country. Many have said YAHWEH has giving them a reason to worship solely from their hearts as testified by a couple from north Carolina in the United States.
In November 2015, JOI MOR got her first nomination in the south south music awards SSMA in 2 categories: as BEST GOSPEL ARTISTE and BEST NEW ARTISTE.
In March 2016, Joi Mor brought something new to the table, she released a up tempo single "Latiti" which was produced by Mr Oyel "Okey Sokay". The song also got featured on the best of blogs across the country and remained in the air for quite a while.
She became Mrs Bernard in February 2017. Over the course of her music career Joi Mor has shared the same stage with the likes of Freke Umoh, Samsong, BNG, Jude Sax, FootPrint5, Jahdiel amongst others.
JOI MOR believes in making people happy and bringing them out of depression through her music.
