Good day and welcome to Pricherman116 Blog's Exclusive Interview Session 'Mit Me'. Can you introduce yourself to us?
Hello, my name is Tabitha Baba Fada, I am a music artist. I hail from Kaduna state Nigeria residing in Abuja. I am single and a public health practitioner.
Kindly share with us How growing up was like for you.
I grew up in Kano state, Northern Nigeria. I have fond memories of my childhood as it was full of fun and adventure. I had the privilege of being allowed to do what I love(d) – singing. I sang a lot with my sister from one concert and church programs to another and we were invited to sing at weddings a lot. I was about 7 years of age when we (my sister and I) released our debut album of praise and worship songs. It was interesting and encouraging finding out that most people enjoyed what we did. Sure, growing up was beautiful. My parents were very supportive and helped me to manage the blend of my young passion and academics; hence I had a healthy balance between the two.
What is your Educational Background?
I hold a HND in Physics with Electronics in the line of Science and Laboratory Technology from Kaduna State Polytechnic, Zaria. I have had a couple of professional certificates in Monitoring and Evaluation (NPMEC) and Understanding the Rights of Women and Girls awarded by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network.
What inspired you into singing?
Oh, so many inspirations. The way I felt and still feel when I sing, that person I hear whenever I sang inspired me and still does. My family has been my strong inspiration. The testimonies I got growing up when I sang, no matter how little made me feel I could lift someone somewherewith my forte. Also, knowing someone is out there listening inspires me.
What genre on music do you do?
I do mostly R&B, pop.
What is the inspiration behind your track 'I Go Make Am'?
Truth is I was in some serious challenge and didn’t know where to turn in. And one evening in church my pastor was preaching and he said “say to yourself ‘I will make it” and that was it. ‘I Go Make Am’ is dedicated not to those who have ‘made it’ but to all who desire greater levels of success to these group I boldly say “you go make am”.
What is the inspiration behind your hit track ‘I'm Here'?
The Holy Spirit. “I’m Here” is a message the Lord gave me one afternoon. The Holy Spirit woke me up from a nap and I began to write. The punch line of the message that stuck with me in that encounter were these words, “I know that you are there inside, and you ain’t deaf ‘cos I’m here you’ll hear”. I really pondered over that for a while. He made me understand that sometimes when He calls, we pretend not to hear. But the truth is because He ‘The Healer’is here calling, even if you are deaf for real, you will hear.
What do you do at leisure time?
I watch cartoons and animated movies, oh… I like them. Which artiste do you look forward to having collaboration with?
I would like to collaborate with Onos, Samsong, J Moss, Kim Burrel, Kelly Rowland, Lara George and Joe Praise.
Do you do other thing apart from music and being an health practitioner?
Yes. I inspire children with creative arts. I also work with a family-centered non-governmental organization on community health interventions. My role principally is Strategic Information.
Who is your role model?
The ‘me’ I foresee is my role model, but I also look up to models like J Moss, Kim Burrel, and the Sheards.
Where do you see the Nigerian Gospel ministry in 10 years time?
Well, it’s more of a desire and a prayer that in about that time, Gospel ministry will be that cord of oneness between artists that will translate into a positive energy all over the world. It won’t be a competition or just an entertainment but will speak to love, revival, reconciliation, hopes and a focus on heaven.
Do you have any forthcoming songs or video? Please tell us about it.
Yes. I am working on an Extended Play that should be ready in a couple of months. Let’s look out for it.
