Ace trumpeter and music instructor,
Zeekiel Esau is a smooth jazz trumpet player, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is the epitome of an artist who's made of good choices, one of the distinct voices of our time.
He began playing trumpet at the age of six(6) in his local church band. His passion and zeal for music gave him a platform in an award winning movie "HALF OF THE YELLOW SUN" and privilege to share stage with some great music legends; Hugh Masekela, Hope Davis, King Feladey, Mbaseke, Kelly Handsome, Yeenka Davis, Afrik Band, DML Band, The Drill Entertainment, De Breeze, So-pharez and host of other musicians during the Calabar international jazz and Christmas festival. He was an integral figure in the 2010 star quest competition with the ACE VIBES BAND.
He is known as a straight-ahead artist in the hard bop tradition but has recently developed an African-fusion, smooth style of playing that makes him unique from other trumpet players on the performance circuit. Since 2009, Zeekiel has served as an Artistic Director in some renown jazz crew "De breeze" he also served as Artistic Director in an all female jazz band "So-pharez" and is now serving as an Artistic Director in Jimmy's play House and also in Terrace jazz Quartet in Terrace jazz cafe in House Of freeda.
"Lift Him Up" is a song that he records to give God the glory for life provision and to celebrate his birthday the song is very powerful indeed.
